1.Introduction of War Dog Statue
War dog statue, a bronze sculpture of a disabled soldier and his service dog, is titled ”Freedom will never be Free”. The sculpture was created by Kansas City-based artist John Parsons, commissioned by the HC Free Ball Committee and sponsored by Micked Mckenzie and his family. In honor of disabled veterans, the sculpture features a life size prosthetic man and his service dog. Here soldier is in short shirt and sleeves sits on a marble bench with a cap on his head and looks down at his dog like partner and lover. He wears a watch on his hand, which shows that he is a man with good sense of time.
He’s muscular and looks strong, but the prosthesis on one of his legs is shocking and sad. You can imagine the cruelty of war. At his side was a very docile service dog. Dog sat with its tail bent inward and its chin resting on owner’s lap and its head tilted in his arms, waiting to stroke like a child.
War dog statue is when a human being to harm, the harmonious coexistence of human and dog. They rely on each other, help each other, and have a good trust relationship.
