Poodle Statue is an image of a poodle made up of 45 bronze balls. These large and small bronze balls are more like balloons glued together that can’t feel its weight at all. The sculpture inspiration source is the molecular composition of sucrose. Chambers named the sculpture after this “Sucrose and Cyberus” . Sucrose is the chemical name for sugar and brain glycoside. In Greek and Roman mythology, sucrose is a fearsome three-headed dog. It guards the entrance to the underworld. The Poodle Statue consists of 45 cast bronze balls of three sizes, 14” for hydrogen, 20” for oxygen, and 24” for carbon.
