1.Introduction of Husky Statue
Husky statue, a Siberian husky named Balto, leads a dogsled team to Nome, Alaska, in a snowstorm to deliver a much-needed diphtheria antitoxin. A plaque under Balto’s statue is a relief of seven sled dogs on their arduous 660-mile journey. The statue was designed by Frederick G.R. Ross who is a famous sculptor of animals. The relief plaque reads ”For the indomitable spirit of the sled dogs who delivered antitoxin over 660 miles of rugged ice, across treacherous waters, from the arctic snowstorms of Nenana to rescue the stricken Nome in the winter of 1925”
